The band gives a bittersweet preview of their seventh album with the first single “Seraphina”. Can you remember a painful goodbye with warmth – and celebrate what once was? Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? “Seraphina” more than imply so. The moving hymn is the first precursor to Kashmir’s long awaited seventh album, which marks a new beginning and has created the most inspiring creative process for the band so far. The album has already been titled E.A.R. and is released on Monday the 18th of March 2013. Kashmir’s great audience can slowly start to build up the joy of expectation with “Seraphina”. The first single exudes hope and an appetite for life, even though the theme is parting. Lead singer Kasper Eistrup says: ”’Seraphina’ is a song about saying goodbye to a person of great importance without sinister thoughts and instead remember the positive things they leave behind. That is why the sentence ‘don’t mourn the dead, but celebrate the life they gave’ is so vital for the song. It can be about saying goodbye to a partner, a family member or a good friend and send them on in life, the light, death or oblivion. Seraphina is the name of an angel from the bible that carries six wings other than that there is nothing biblical or religious to the song. Actually it’s just a word I liked.”
